This is a home for fearless film lovers, indie creators, and dreamers, who dare to explore the depths of dystopia, drawn to the uncanny worlds of Hitchcock, Kubrick, Carpenter, Craven, Cronenberg, Argento, Lovecraft, and beyond.
We meet regularly for screenings, share laughs over drinks, and rave (or rant) together on our Letterboxd Page. You’ll also find us hanging out at our BFI Riverfront socials — always a great time. We stay on top of film news, and members get to vote on what we watch next via our WhatsApp or Telegram groups (unlocked after your first meetup).

Hey guys! And this is exactly why I choose my friends carefully, and even more so who I work with. And by the way, we’re at the beginning of Halloween season, so make sure you look under those masks.
Tonight we are watching a psychological thriller about a struggling writer who uncovers a disturbing hidden manuscript while hired to finish a famous author’s book series. The manuscript contains horrifying confessions, including the author’s dark perspective on her family tragedies and the suspicious deaths of her children.
The film is directed by Michael Showalter and based on the bestselling novel by Colleen Hoover.
The Meetup: We shall meet and greet before the film, and maybe talk about some of our favourite psychological thrillers. Then after the film, we’ll reconvene once again, share our reviews and score the film for Letterboxd. I’ll also post the finer details, map and exact times as we get closer to the date, so make sure you come back here**.**

☄️🎬SAM NEILL DAY PART I: EVENT HORIZON
Victory House Leicester Square, 14 Leicester Pl, London WC2H 7BZ, UK, London, GB⚫ Did you know that Event Horizon’s gravity drive was inspired by the puzzle box from Hellraiser? Oh yes, baby… and there’s a lot more where that effing spaceship came from.
👋 What’s up guys! We’re beginning our tribute day to the late, great Sam Neill with one of his most memorable journeys into horror, and unfortunately for Dr. William Weir, this particular journey appears to go straight down to Hell. Or is it up in space? I don’t know now.
Director Paul W. S. Anderson, the genius bad ass behind this journey of madness, designed this ship as a kind of flying gothic cathedral and modelled its rotating corridor around the Nine Circles of Hell from Dante’s Inferno. Basically, this ship was doomed from its conception, long before anyone had the nerve to switch the bloody thing on.
If you want a taste of what 2047 could potentially look like, then follow this rescue crew as they investigate this mysterious experimental starship as it suddenly reappears out of nowhere, opening a gateway into pure, malevolent chaos.
As this ship drifts through space like a sentient gothic tomb, the vessel weaponises the crew’s deepest traumas and forces them to escape its living corridors, twisting their reality and completely shattering their sanity. Oh boy, this movie is effing insane. 😈
The Meetup: We’ll be meeting up at 2:30 pm at Victory House Wine Bar, where we’ll decide which horror movie universe you'd least like to face alone. Then at 3:30 pm we’ll head next door to the Prince Charles Cinema for the 35mm screening. You’ll find me in seat A6, but feel free to pick your favourite seat.
After the film at around 5:25 pm, we’ll regroup again at the bar to share our thoughts, discuss what we’ve just witnessed and give it our Letterboxd scores. You’ll also find the full ticket information, cinema address and map down below, so you won’t get lost.

👋 Hey everyone! If there was ever a horror film about a book that could bring about the end of the world, then this would probably be my ultimate choice. It was directed by the absolute legend that is John Carpenter and like many of this master’s films, this one began life with a struggle at the box office and a rather Marmite reception from critics.
But as always, years later, horror fans rescued it from the gutter, pulled it from obscurity and transformed it into the cult classic it deserves to be today. And in honour of the late, great Sam Neill, we’re continuing our tribute with another of his most wonderfully unhinged performances.
The film follows an insurance investigator searching for a hugely successful horror novelist who has mysteriously disappeared. He soon discovers that the author’s books may actually be rewriting reality itself, as the line between fiction and reality collapses and the world descends into a cosmic nightmare.
The Meetup: We’ll be meeting at the Prince Charles Cinema bar at 5:30 pm, where we’ll join those of us coming straight out of the Event Horizon Screening for drinks, a catch-up and a chat about your favourite horror novel. Then at 6:00 pm, we’ll head in for In the Mouth of Madness. You’ll find me in seat D14, but feel free to pick your favourite seat.
After the film at around 8:00 pm, we’ll regroup to share our thoughts, discuss what we’ve just witnessed and give it our Letterboxd scores. You’ll also find the full ticket information, cinema address and map down below, so you won’t get lost.
It’s almost as if horror fans sometimes understand the source material better than everyone else.

👋 Hey guys! I suppose I should start by saying how much I love werewolves, and when it comes to movies about them, not many people get it right. And I should know, since I happen to be a werewolf myself, of a certain kind.
This masterpiece was directed by John Landis, who spent over a decade trying to get the film made. It brilliantly balances genuine, blood-chilling horror with sharp dark humour, while completely revolutionising practical effects through the work of master makeup artist Rick Baker. And it’s the kind of practical movie magic that we hardly see these days.
The film, made way back in 1981, follows two American backpackers who are attacked by a nasty beast on the English moors. One is killed, while the survivor, David, is left with a bloody bite wound. While recovering in hospital, in London, he is haunted by his dead friend, who warns him of his looming transformation into a werewolf at the next full moon. This film is so sick.
The Meetup: We’ll be gathering at the Victory House Wine Bar at 7:30 pm to talk about the different kinds of lycanthropy and werewolves. Then, after a few drinks, we’ll head next door to the Prince Charles Cinema for the 8:30 pm screening. You’ll find me in seat D14 if you’d like to sit in the same row.
