What we’re about
👋 HELLO AND WELCOME TO MOVIE ROADHOUSE LONDON!
London’s biggest film club — built by fans, for fans. We’re a buzzing community of movie lovers, indie filmmakers, comic geeks, and creators who live and breathe cinema. From cult classics to hidden gems, big-screen blockbusters to indie passion projects — we just love getting lost in movies.
We meet regularly for screenings, grab drinks after, and rave (or rant) together on our Letterboxd Page. You’ll often find us at our BFI Riverfront Socials — always a vibe. We stay on top of film news, and our members help vote on what we watch next via WhatsApp or Telegram (unlocked after your first meetup).
We also aim to make an effort to support independent cinema — from The Film Festival Guild to the Prince Charles Cinema, the BFI, Medicinema, and more. That means we sometimes get special perks, early screenings, and the chance to hit the road for exciting festivals. From film quizzes to chill pub nights, there’s always something going on.

📽️🎬 THE INERTIA VARIATIONS - DOC W/ MATT JOHNSON Q&A!
BFI Southbank, BFI Southbank, Belvedere Road, London, SE1 8XT, GB📻 Matt Johnson of the band THE THE, known for his intensely personal and political songs, has remained silent for 15 years. Conflicted by creative inertia, he has observed from the sidelines as corporate state propaganda has swamped the cultural airwaves.
This 84-minute documentary, inspired by the poem of the same name by British-born, Los Angeles based poet John Tottenham, is centered around Johnson's 12 hour live Radio Cineola broadcast and within the film, through recitations of Tottenham’s poetry, Matt Johnson examines his troubled relationship with celebrity and the creative process and, through the tragic deaths of his mother and two of his brothers, how bereavement has informed his work and outlook.

Hello, everyone 👋 we are meeting up for James Camerons, long-awaited sequel. If you've been following the saga, you will know this is the third instalment of this groundbreaking series. This one I gather will take everything we’ve seen and heard so far, and turning up the intensity. Cameron has been pretty clear: this film isn’t just about delivering stunning visuals, though let’s be honest, we know those are coming too.
We’ll start our casual pre-social at the Victory House Wine Bar (next to the cinema) before proceeding to the grand film’s opening night at Cineworld IMAX Leicester Square. We’ve booked seats N35 and N36, but feel free to pick your own. Just a note: it’s probably best to book your tickets early as this is set to sell out quickly. We’ll be meeting afterwards for a brief Letterboxd review to share our thoughts.
Here’s 🥂 to a pre-Christmas 🎄, chilled Friday night at the movies — Na’vi vibes, good company, and plenty to talk about.

👋 Hey everyone, this time around, we’re making it a bit of a fashion affair. When we first heard about this sequel, we couldn’t help but smile. The original film is one of our all-time favourites, and having the original cast and director back honestly gives us goosebumps. It feels like the perfect excuse to dive into some cinematic nostalgia — and do it in style.
The sequel, directed once again by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna, brings us back into the rivalry between Miranda Priestly and Emily Charlton in a whole new digital era. And of course, we’re adding our own twist: COME DRESSED TO IMPRESS, because the best-dressed attendee will win a prize!
We’ll have our usual comfy social setup (with final details confirmed closer to the time). After the film, we’ll regroup for a relaxed but effortlessly chic Prada-Flavoured Social to chat about our favourite moments — and we’ll share the highlights on our Letterboxd Page as always.
