👋 Welcome to The Hideout: London’s most hyperactive social film club, built by horror fans for horror fans, exploring every corner of horror and the darker edge of sci-fi.
This is a home for fearless film lovers, indie creators, and dreamers, who dare to explore the depths of dystopia, drawn to the uncanny worlds of Hitchcock, Kubrick, Carpenter, Craven, Cronenberg, Argento, Lovecraft, and beyond.
We meet regularly for screenings, share laughs over drinks, and rave (or rant) together on our Letterboxd Page. You’ll also find us hanging out at our BFI Riverfront socials — always a great time. We stay on top of film news, and members get to vote on what we watch next via our WhatsApp or Telegram groups (unlocked after your first meetup).
We’re all about supporting independent cinema, whether it’s at the Prince Charles Cinema, exciting film festivals, or the BFI,. 👋 What's up guys! You know, there are some unique cases where a child may encounter terrifying, maybe even astral, adversarial experiences. But I was a special kid, lol, so let's move swiftly on to Rob Savage's new entry. You may remember him from previous films like Host and The Boogeyman, so he certainly knows his way around our bedrooms.
This film in particular is a supernatural psychological horror that follows an 8-year-old girl facing the ultimate nightmare. A malicious entity emerges from her closet, perfectly mimicking her mum in an attempt to destroy and replace her family. What follows pulls her into a relentless and rather extreme case of identity theft.
Now, as horror aficionados, we've definitely heard some of these plot points before, especially when it comes to creepy entities and childhood fears of things lurking in the closet. So, not exactly new territory. However, this one looks like it could carry something a little different, perhaps throwing us off a little. So let’s check it out and hope for the best. 🤞
The Meetup: We'll be meeting for pre-drinks at the Victory House Bar at 8:00 pm. Then we’ll head over to VUE West End for the 9:15 pm screening, where you'll find me in seat A5 if you want to sit nearby.
After the film, at around 11:15 pm, we'll meet outside the screen to wrap things up with our commentary and Letterboxd scores. You'll also find the full ticket information, addresses and map down below so you won't get lost.

👋 Hey everyone! We’re getting together for drinks and watching Zach Cregger’s hit from last year, which is part of this year’s Horroctober lineup taking place at the Prince Charles Cinema. So if you haven’t seen it or fancy a rewatch, then this is a good chance to give it a go.
The film centres on a somewhat sleepy town grappling with the mysterious disappearance of 17 children from the same classroom overnight. It explores how the residents react to what has happened and the secrets that lie beneath the surface.
The Meetup: We’ll be meeting at the Victory House Bar for pre-drinks at 8:00 pm before heading to the Prince Charles Cinema for the 9:00 pm session. I’ll be in seat A6 if you’d like to sit nearby.
After the film at 11:25 pm, we’ll regroup again to share our thoughts and, give it our Letterboxd scores. You will find the full ticket information and addresses below with everything you need for the evening.
This horror film has the stamp of approval from plenty of horror fans, so at the very least, it should make for a fun night out.

👋 Hey everyone! I don’t know about you guys, but to me 2026 has been an exceptional year for original horror films. And now it seems we’re also getting some pretty good monster movies in the mix. I am so looking forward to this one.
This one is said to be one of the most intense theatrical experiences of the year, as it’s set to have deep psychological battles, visceral tension and nauseating body horror. Added to that, the film is directed by Brian Duffield, co-written by Daniel Kraus, who adapted his own bestselling novel, and features new scream king Austin Abrams.
The general plot is about a grief-stricken scuba diver searching for his father’s remains off the California coast. He is then swallowed by an 80-foot sperm whale, which kind of sounds depraved if you ask me. And then things only get worse as he is trapped inside the beast’s stomach with only an hour of oxygen left, leaving him to fight for his life. So, sick times indeed.
The Meetup: The plan is to meet up in town and talk about creature features before proceeding to the film. Then after the film, we’ll regroup once again to discuss what we’ve witnessed and give it our Letterboxd scores. And as always, I’ll post the final details and exact times as we get closer to the date, so make sure you come back here.
I am so gassed that we’re finally getting an aquatic horror movie that isn’t just about recycled sharks. 🐋🌊

👋 Hi everybody! We’re meeting up for a hauntingly beautiful evening out at Halloween at Kew where we will explore the famous Royal Botanic Gardens after dark, completely transformed into a spectacular 1.5km illuminated trail.
The place will be packed with moody light projections, fire performers, and hidden spooky surprises. We will be walking a 1.5-hour outdoor trail together through different themed scare zones—including Dracula's Lair, a Cursed Tomb, and a Medieval Dungeon.
Along the way, we can also grab seasonal snacks like hot chocolate, hot toddies, and marshmallows to roast over open fire pits. And the trail ends with a fun Monster Disco under giant skull mirror balls!
⏳ Timing & Latecomer Logistics (Friendly but Fair!)
We want everyone to have a fantastic time, but because Kew Gardens operates on strict timed entry slots, we have to head to the gates on time. Here is how we will manage the evening:- 7:15 PM: We’ll be meeting at The Tap on the Line (Fuller's pub) to grab drinks and get acquainted. I’ll post on the day exactly where our table will be sitting, or you can check our live group chat section to find us!
- 7:55 PM: We’ll stroll over to Victoria Gate together so we can arrive exactly for our 8:00 PM entry slot.
- Running Late? If you miss us at the pub, please do not panic, but do head straight to Victoria Gate to meet us. If you happen to arrive later or picked a different time slot, you can catch up with us via the group chat section of this page!

This is a fully outdoor walking event, so please wear warm layers and comfortable, sturdy walking shoes. Don't forget an umbrella just in case British weather decides to be spooky too!
