🪦 I COULDN’T RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE MORE!
I absolutely love this film. It was one of my favourite films growing up and one of my favourite films ever since. In terms of horror pop culture, it has everything that you would expect in a fun horror film and it makes you feel fully satisfied. Satisfaction at the end of a movie is something that I seldom see these days but when I see them I remember them like this beautiful gem. I call this a fun horror movie without it being a comedy and this was one of the best traits horror movies had in the 80’s and 90’s.
For those of you who didn't know this was based on a very famous comic book also called Tales from the Crypt by EC Comics that dates back from the 1950s. Granted this was not as famous as DC or Marvel but it was very popular within horror communities, particularly in North America. Tales from the Crypt was also adapted into a famous Cable TV Series by HBO in the late 90s. Due to its incredible popularity, it spawned 3 feature films and Demon Knight would be the first one and the greatest one of all. I honestly couldn’t recommend this movie more, and if I'm wrong, and if you don't like it, you can shoot me at the end of the movie. So join me at the Clubhouse for some drinks and a great, fun horror flick.
- First: We will meet for drinks🍻at the Clubhouse and a table has been reserved as always under "The Hideout".
- Then: 🍿🍿We're off to Prince Charles Cinema's main bar to grab a drink before the movie and write our favourite film we wish to see on the Prince Charles Cinema Chalkboard. Then we proceed to see the totally awesome Demon Knight on the upstairs screen. We will be located from Row A6 as it's an intimate screen and the view is very clear and straight from the front. However, you are welcome to sit where you feel more comfortable.
- After: ☑️ We reconvene, rate and score and we will post the results on our group and our WhatsApp Group.
- 💀Plot: High-level demons collect low-level demons as warriors in an attempt to obtain a key containing the blood of Christ. The key is guarded by immortal warriors called Demon Knights. Trailer

💀✝️THIS FILM HAS BECOME A CULTURAL REFERENCE POINT
The Exorcist has done for horror what 2001 has done for sci-fi and I truly believe that. It legitimised the genre to audiences who previously considered horror as unimportant, disgusting or perverse. Now that I think about it, this film has gone down many avenues that even horror films today will not go. It was banned in cinemas until 1999, the videocassette was withdrawn in 1986 and considered a video nasty for many years until its official release again in 1999. If you have further interest in this subject may I recommend a very interesting read from the BFI website on Video Nasties in Horror History. You may also be interested in watching this film before the release of David Gordon Green's direct sequel The Exorcist Believer which we have a meet-up for this October. This film legitimises possession in film and is based on William Peter Blatty's novel The Exorcist, which was inspired by the actual 1949 exorcism of a young boy in Cottage City, Maryland, and the horrifying 1634 Loudun exorcisms. Blatty heard about the Maryland case while he was a student at Georgetown University which I presume is why the film was set there as well. I had the pleasure of visiting Georgetown, the house and the university at the exorcist II, and it's a very nice place. I really do recommend it. For more non-spoiler commentary join us for drinks at the ClubHouse.

- 🏚️🎬 THE EVIL DEAD: ALL NIGHTERClubhouse 5 - Leicester Square, London
👹 COULD YOU SURVIVE A DEMONIC NIGHT WITHOUT BEING DEAD BY DAWN? Would you dare open the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis that wreaks havoc just to satisfy your own curiosity? It is just that drive in you and that kind of curiosity that drives you crazy and gets you into trouble. If you must have an answer to your question as an answer to the question. It is more than an innate curiosity for the natural order of things that has brought you here. Your curiosity for the unknown is the reason why you're here. The problem is you may end up loving too much or not live to tell the story. Remember curiosity killed the cat
Here's my non-spoiler commentary: The Evil Dead franchise was created by Sam Raimi back in 1981 revolving around the "Necronomicon Ex-Mortis" also referred to as "Naturom Demonto" or "Book of The Dead” which includes ancient prophecies, funerary incantations, and demon resurrection passages. While initially designed to serve as a compendium for all things supernatural the book eventually escaped into the hands of humanity, where it has been passed from owner to owner since. According to Lee Cronin director of the latest entry Evil Dead Rise, there is more than one book.
Another interesting fact is that the "Book of the Dead" is not just a fictional artefact found in these movies. Separately from making its way into other movies, this was an actual book from an ancient Egyptian funerary used around 50 BC. I will reveal more of these cool non-spoiler details at this week’s meet-up before the film. Join me for a nightcap, an overview of The Book of the Dead and an all-nighter from hell to remember.
- First: We go for🍺drinks to discuss The Book of the Dead at Clubhouse5 Leicester Square. A table has been reserved under "The Hideout" on the first floor.
- Then: 🍿We're off to see The Evil Dead Movies at The Prince Charles Cinema. There will be a break in between the movies where we can catch top for another 🍺drink at The Prince Charles Cinema Bar.
- After: ☑️ We rate and score the film. The results will be published on our WhatsApp and meetup group board for other club members to see.
- 💀Plot: The Evil Dead Movie Series consists of five feature films that revolve around the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis, an ancient Sumerian text that wreaks havoc upon a group of inhabitants. Each film has received generally positive reviews, with the original trilogy developing a cult following. To watch trailers press on the following links for The Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, Army of Darkness, Evil Dead & Evil Dead Rise.
- 💺Seat locations: Located on row D (D14) however you can sit where ever you feel more comfortable.

🦌 CUANDO ACECHA LA MALDAD
Yes, this would be the movie's original title in Spanish as it is a joint production between Argentina and the United States and it will be the only chance we will be able to see this on the big screen before it's Shutter release. The premise of this film looks extremely interesting and even more, so, is that the intrigue and curiosity to watch it came from word of mouth.Without giving too much away this takes place in a remote village In a remote village where two brothers find a demon-infected man just about to give birth to evil itself. Apart from this, we don't know what to expect from this film but we sure have faith in it as looks sick. Also as horror fans, we know that when evil wants to exist it will find its way to be born by any means. Join us at this member's request Meetup. A movie meet-up by fans for fans.
- First: We meet and greet briefly at the Prince Charles cinema bar on the basement floor to grab a drink before the movie and write our favourite film we wish to see on the Prince Charles Cinema Chalkboard.
- Then: 🍿🍿We're off to Screen 2 on the top floor to watch the UK premiere of When Evil Lurks. This is a member request Meetup, so please feel free to sit wherever you feel more comfortable as we will reconvene outside the cinema after the film. Here is a preview of the Trailer.
- After: ☑️ We go for drinks🍻at the Clubhouse and a table has been reserved as always under "The Hideout". Once there we will chat, rate and score the film and the results on our WhatsApp Group. This would be the same group where we do our movie polls on requests.
