Join us for a swim at Seapoint on Sunday @ 12p.m. Regulars and newcomers are welcome to join us. You have the option to swim, paddle around and have a chat, or just dip your toes, the choice is yours. We recommend that you don't stay in the water too long as it's still quite cold this time of year, and please stay within your debt - we do look out for each other but we are not lifeguards. And remember to bring warm clothes for after the swim and keep warm, and maybe a hot drink too.. **We meet at the Lifeguard hut on Brightonvale road, or if it's raining we will meet at the shelters.** Afterwards we usually go for a coffee at cafe du journel - join us if you want to, the option is yours. Hi all, Our *‘Before’* Triology continues on **Sunday April 19th at 4pm** with the screening of **Before Sunset.** Before Sunrise ended with a promise that its sequel reveals was not kept. Nine years after Vienna, Jesse, married with a son, is giving a reading in a Paris bookshop of the novel he wrote inspired by his encounter with Céline when she appears. Their time once again limited by Jesse’s travel arrangements, the two walk the streets, resuming their conversation, acknowledging the changes in their lives while recognising the profound effect their one night together had on their lives and relationships. The meaning of the word zen is meditation, zazen means sitting meditation. In zazen practice we begin to know ourselves, and to go beyond the limits of our personal ego. Within our tradition zazen is referred to as shikantaza, not doing, letting go of thoughts, dropping off body and mind. This sitting meditation is the focus of our practice. Language limits our ability to communicate the true nature of zen; it is something that is better understood through practice. We are open to everyone interested in learning about zen. Intro workshop for newcomers is available at 5.30pm each Sunday. The dojo is a sacred place and it is important to be considerate of everyone. We have many people that travel to practise together once a week or once a month. So for that reason it is really essential that we all know the structure of the sitting practise (when to sit, how to do Kinhin, the different bell sounds and their meaning etc), to ensure a silent, safe and meaningful meditation. And it's also great to meet everyone before the sitting practise. And answer any questions you may have. We have zafus and zabutons (mats and cushions) for all to sit on. Chairs are available too. Comfortable clothing for sitting, black or neutral tones best. We greatly appreciate a donation of €5 to cover costs if it's possible for you. Explore Saint Catherine's Park, Lucan. We will be meeting at Connolly Train Station at 11:30AM. (Beside the Pret A Manger). At 11:35AM, we will be walk to the (Intercity Commuter) Maynooth, which is scheduled for 11:47AM. This train goes through 9 train stations (Connolly, Drumcondra, Broombridge, Pelletstown, Ashtown, Navan Road Parkway, Castleknock, Coolmine and Consilla), everyone that is coming, is welcome to get on from any of those stations mentioned. We will arrive at Leixlip Train Station 12:19 (Estimated) When everyone is of the train we will be walking 34 minutes (2.5KM) to the Starting Point of the Walking Loop. The Loop at Saint Catherine's Park is 3.9KM (About 1 Hour and 30 Minutes). This is an old woodland in Ireland, it can be an exotic habitat, while we are walking through the woods we will see beaches, swamps and hills. This park contains one of very few remaining examples of this primative habitat. There are toilet at the beginning of the walking loop. We will be walking through Lucan Demense and Ruins of Saint Catherine's Church. Every event is 5 Euro's, you can pay by using Revolut or Cash, this goes towards my meet-up subsription fee and it takes a alot of time organising these events on meet-up and doing them.
