After leaving the Carr Co, Ragland formed his own investment banking concern, which successfully assisted the Federal Government in the disposition of over $5.0 billion in assets, including land, office buildings and sub-performing (non-performing) real estate loans. Ragland served as Vice-Chair of the City of Alexandra (VA) Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals; Chairman of the Prince George's County (MD) Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the City of Bowie (MD) Economic Development Committee and Chairman of the Bowie (MD) Business Innovation Center (Bowie BIC). He is a member of the faculty of the Bowie State University College of Business and a member of the Board of Visitors of Towson University. Ragland has been directly involved in the development, marketing sales, and management of over 5,000 acres of land, 10 million square feet of office and commercial space, and 10,000 apartment/cond units. His favorite passion is teaching his kids how to make serious money fixing, flipping, and owning single-family houses.

Anyway, Since I started to learn using TextQuitling to do READING in FOREIGN LANGUAGES (YES, ENGLISH INCLUDED) Also, I'd like to introduce my 84 years old mother to read something not as scientific dense materials, such as Robert Saplosky's Why Zebra don't Get Ulcers. Thus I decided to pick Sonia Korn-Grimani's project (She was receiving invitation from US s Holocaust Memorial Museum to put down her life stories in English, while she has wrote her memoir in German in 2009) Anyway, While reading, I do realize that her story was in the same category of Anne Frank's diary.) I am not sure if this is an OLD STORY, while, hey, Bible is still the most popular book in print after thousands of years. Not only so, BUT IT IS VERY BRUTALLY TRUE that THERE ARE MANY MANY WAR ORPHANs in Ukraine, EVERYDAY, while the WAR murder cases are still ongoing. I'm just kind of sad, Whatever Sonia Korn-Grimani had wished when she wrote down her life stories, the blessing did not last. Dr. Korn-Grimani was able to write in a "clear", "non-emotional" tone at her 78 years old time. Thanks for joining us, writers! Because of COVID-19, we are hosting this with Zoom. When life returns to normal then we will be meeting again in downtown Portland. For now, we will be sending out the Zoom link with the stories that are sent by email the Saturday before the workshop. Please understand that we limit attendance to 15 or 16 writers to allow all the writers a chance to critique and have a voice during the workshop. Before you come: New? Some of us print out the stories and make comments on the hard copies to give to the writer, but this is not obligatory. The topic for April is "Water" Speak Easy: true stories, told live. The idea is simple: an audience, an open microphone, and great stories. Hilarious, gripping, poignant- it's up to you. Audiences are invited to come to listen or come to tell as folks from all corners of Columbus offer their stories live on stage! Held at Wild Goose Creative's warm, intimate space, this night of tales occurs on the 3rd Thursday of every month. Doors open at 6:30 pm, show starts at 7:00 pm. Please arrive early if you want to tell, as we generally only have room for a limited number of tellers, and the sign-up sheet has a tendency to fill up fast. Formed around the idea that people need stories--they're what hold and draw us together--SpeakEasy celebrates the strangeness and commonness of being human. And in a world of smartphones, Facebook, Twitter, and more . . . it gives people a real, breathing, in-person way to connect. The night is geared for true stories of all kinds, taking the best tales told around kitchen tables, in darkened pubs, on the street corner, and at late-night parties and giving them an audience. Speak Easy is also a great outlet for performers, writers, and artists looking to share their favorite stories and perfect their skills. We strongly encourage tellers to please tell the story rather than read it so we keep within the spirit of good storytelling and stay engaged with the audience. All are welcome.
