A Town Hall meeting has been scheduled for us by United States Representative Ilhan Omar.

And I am dismayed by the strategy behind it.

To shield Omar from facing criticism regarding her lack of action in Washington, she invited the following local officials to join her:

Minnesota State Senators Mary Kunesh and Susan Pha, Representatives Sandra Feist, Cedrick Frazier, Mike Freiberg, Erin Koegel, Larry Kraft, and Samantha Vang.

I kid you not.

Omar will not stand alone; that’s for certain.

Am I too cynical? Perhaps. But I’ve seen this tactic before.

And there IS this…

You may note: The time for this ‘rally’ is determined and published, but the location is still a mystery to the general population.

(Apparently Omar’s staff will ‘cherry pick’ participating citizens.)

Oh. And. Omar used the announcement of this event to tout her recent (anemic) actions on our behalf.

Your Fearless Instigator is underwhelmed.

Inaction, feeble service, grandiosity and fluff….

The lack of courage from our elected officials in Washington DC breaks the heart of this old Resistance Chick.

Nonetheless, this event IS an actual THING.

And thus, I am inclined to throw myself at the feet of a United States Representative; elected to uphold the constitution of the United States …

Perhaps I will be one of the lucky chosen.
