Hi Everyone -We are a team of Asian living in London with a mission to bring you an interactive Asian language learning experiences with many cultural events to enrich your learning experience.
About Dear Asia
Dear Asia is a language school and a cultural event organiser for Londoners to find their love for Asian languages and cultures.
We offer language lessons and private tuition for Japanese, Korean, Chinese and other ESEA languages. Starting from a language school since 2009, we are specialists in teaching Asian languages.
Our language lessons focus on small group setting, interactive conversation practice to help you achieve your fluency goals. Our classes are never boring! Designed by expert linguistic managers, taught by well-trained native teachers, infused with lots of cultural elements, our classes are effective, interactive, immersive, at the same time, fun and social! Your experience will also be supported by our full time learning coordination team.
You will find no other school like Dear Asia.

### Beginner to Mahjong?
Mahjong is a timeless tile-based game that has been played across Asia for over 300 years and is now gaining global popularity. Unlike poker, where you recognise the cards instantly, Mahjong requires learning the tiles and rules before you can play—and that’s where many beginners struggle.
We’ve often heard how friends and family don’t always have the patience to teach every detail, and after hours of trying, beginners still feel confused about the game.

In this Newbie workshop, you’ll start playing right away! We’ll introduce you to the tiles, sets, and winning hands while guiding you through the basic rules and game rhythm. By the end of this session, we can guarantee that everyone who comes will learn how to play, and feel confident and ready to play Mahjong with others.
### Our Monthly Programs
Every second Saturday of the month, we host a Mahjong Workshop for Newbies, designed for absolute beginners. This is a more intimate, hands-on session where our expert instructors provide full guidance and personalized attention, ensuring you feel confident in the game.
On the last Saturday of the month, we organize a larger Mahjong Workshop for Everyone with three different tables to suit all skill levels:
🔹 Newbie Table – For those just starting out
🔹 Level 2 Learner Table – For players learning to score and improve gameplay
🔹 Just Play Table – For players who just want to enjoy playing games without instructor### A Social Game in a Social Space
Mahjong isn’t just about strategy—it’s about bringing people together. Our workshop offers a fun, welcoming space where you can meet new people, have a great time and maybe even organise future game nights together! We love seeing friendships blossom over Mahjong.
### What’s Included:
✔ Majong instructor - Our experienced instructor to guide you in learning and playing
✔ Mahjong Worksheets – Specially designed materials to help each level of players learn and level up!
✔ Free Tea & Coffee – Enjoy a warm drink while you play. ☕🀄### Workshop Details
Time: 3:30pm - 5:30pm
Where: Dear Asia Aldgate Centre E1
Who: New beginners to Mahjong, come alone or come with your friends / family
How much: £36 for two hours### Important Notes
- Each attendee must be registered to our building in addition to the Eventbrite ticketing. If you book two tickets, we will need both individuals' full names and email addresses for registration.
- There may be times when we don’t have four players per level. In such cases, we’ll combine players across levels to ensure a full game, with guidance from our instructor of course.
