Mortality Movie Night: A Landmark Film with The Grim Reaper

Details
Death Cafe host Gail Rubin also hosts a TV series called Mortality Movies. Our Mortality Movie Nights with discussion afterwards have been so popular, we're moving from Gail's house to the reception center at French Funerals & Cremations at 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
At this evening's event, we will watch director Ingmar Bergman's landmark film, The Seventh Seal (1957, one hour 37 minutes). It's a black and white film in Swedish with English subtitles, an art house favorite. A medieval knight returns to Sweden after the Crusades. He seeks answers about life, death and the existence of God as he plays chess against the Grim Reaper during the Black Plague. We'll also show how the opening scene has been satirized in Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey and Gail Rubin's student film project, The Bubblegum Film.
The event is free, popcorn and chocolate will be served! Hope to see you there!
