Saturday Night Special Mortality Movie: Military Honors

It's summertime, and Death Cafe/Mortality Movie host Gail Rubin has an outdoor movie projection system! You are invited to come to her home for a Saturday night outdoor screening of a Mortality Movie. We'll watch a film related to end-of-life issues and have a short discussion afterwards.

For this Saturday night special screening, attendees get a choice of two films about funerals and the military - we might even do a double feature. You can vote for your preferred film when you RSVP. You'll be sent Gail's address in a direct message. Choose from:

• Taking Chance (2009 – TV-PG, 1 hr. 17 min.) Based on real-life events, Kevin Bacon stars as a voluntary military escort officer who accompanies the body of 19-year-old Marine Chance Phelps back to his hometown of Dubois, Wyoming.
• Last Flag Flying (2017 – R, 2 hr. 5 min.) Thirty years after they served together in Vietnam, a former Navy Corpsman reunites with two old buddies to bury his son, a young Marine killed in the Iraq War. Stars Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston and Laurence Fishburne in this comedy/drama.
