Welcome to Death Cafe in Miami! We are a community-focused gathering dedicated to open, relaxed conversations about death, dying, and what it means to live fully.
In a culture that often avoids talking about mortality, this group provides a safe, agenda-free space to explore our thoughts, fears, and curiosities alongside fellow community members. We gather on equal footing over coffee, tea, and cake to discuss the one destination we all share.
About the Facilitator
This group is facilitated by a palliative medicine physician currently practicing at HCA Florida Aventura. While working in palliative care highlights the deep need for these conversations, the facilitator leaves the "doctor hat" at the door. There is no hierarchy here—just humans connecting with other humans.
Important Note: A Death Cafe is an open discussion group. It is not a grief support group, a bereavement counseling session, or a medical Q&A. There are no objectives, no themes, and no intent to lead participants to any specific conclusion.
