At this month's Death Cafe we will honour Baby Loss Awareness Week (Oct. 9-15th ). We remember the babies born sleeping, those who were carried for the shortest or longest time but never held, those who were held but could not be taken home, those who came home but could not stay.

We will also acknowledge International World Mental Health Day (October 10th), where the aim is to increase education, awareness, and advocacy against social stigma. This year's theme is 'access to services - mental health in catastrophes and emergencies'. These important matters affect the whole community, so please join us as we talk about these and our usual discussions on anything related to death and dying . Death Cafe is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session. We encourage you to arrive a little earlier to order food or drink at the bar. In addition to the comforting aspect of a cup of hot chocolate, tea or coffee and a sweet treat, your purchase contributes to using the space kindly offered by the venue.
You can also sign up at https://www.meetup.com/death-cafe-wanaka/ to receive email reminders for future events.
All are very welcome.
