About this Death Café

• It is my #1 goal to normalize conversations around death & dying because it is something that we all have in common as humans. We each have so much to offer in this conversation by sharing our different cultural, religious & spiritual backgrounds and beliefs.
• At a Death Café people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea and discuss death. Our objective is 'to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives'.
• A Death Café is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counselling session.
• Our Death Cafes are always offered:
  - On a not for profit basis
  - In a, respectful and confidential space
  - With no intention of leading people to any conclusion, product or course of action
  - Alongside refreshing drinks and nourishing food!

Housekeeping:

• We will begin promptly at 10:35 am PST. Please arrive by 10:15 am in order to purchase your drinks & snacks and get yourself situated upstairs. They will bring your order up to you if not ready before we begin. :-)
• This will be held in a private Den upstairs. There are 18 steps with a handrail but unfortunately no elevator. If you would like to attend one of my Death Cafes but are unable to make it up stairs, please note that I facilitate one on Zoom every 1st Friday. We would love to have you join us there!
• This Death Café is of course free of charge. Please consider purchasing a tasty beverage &/or snack from our lovely host!
• Reserving your space is encouraged so I have an idea of headcount, but walk-ins are welcomed!
• This location 21+ as it does serve wine & beer during the day hours.

Facilitator:
Hello! My name is Lisa, and I help individuals who fear discussing death and struggle with grief to explore their anxieties, develop End-Of-Life Plans, and grow through their grief, enabling them to live fully and die well when the time comes.
I am a certified End-Of-Life Practitioner (ELP), Death Doula, Funeral Celebrant, Usui Reiki Master, a Certified Grief Educator and the Owner/Founder of Soaring Heart Healing.
