Motion: Foreign aid is more harmful than helpful

On the surface foreign aid initiatives seem altruistic and worthwhile. Countries of means should offer what they can to countries with less. But what is the result? Do these gifts help lift up these less fortunate nations and set them on a better path? Or does the dependence limit them from establishing long-term self-realized solutions?
