The BEST possible Debate: Did WOMEN'S SUFFRAGE fortify or weaken our republic?

From the content of Richelle's email, she sounds like a formidable potential debater, but our preference would be the more popular (with Ann Coulter, et al.) & provocative subject suggested above. We will, however, need a larger venue to contain the crowd... especially if women debate for Coulter's view on this.

Hi,

What time is the debate? Also, I joined this meetup to improve at debating...I have never done a debate but am seriously interested in the open spot. Am I a suitable candidate or should not consider this?

Thank You,
Richelle

Hi everyone,

Last week, we debated whether “it is a proper role of the Government to provide healthcare to its Citizens" — click here to view the photos.

This month’s Motion Debate is on the topic of "Religion."  The proposed language of the Motion is as follows: "on balance, is Religion, in general, more harmful to society?"

It will be held on Weds. July 26th at the same venue in Time Square:

As usual, there will be two teams — each arguing for, or against, the Motion.  Each team consists of two debaters.  We're currently looking for two debaters to argue against the Motion (i.e., religion has been more beneficial to society).  We already have two debaters who will argue in support of the Motion.

We're looking for serious participants -- someone who is willing to do their own research and prepare for the debate. I can assure you that the experience will be fun, rewarding, and intellectually gratifying!

Additionally, we're also looking for volunteers to assist with hosting the event -- specifically, we're looking for: timekeepers, ballot distributors, and photographers.  If anyone's interested in any of these functions, please contact me directly.

Cheers,

Thomas
