SPECIAL EVENT: Visit to the Expo 'Art against Violence'
Details
Art Expo ❞Art against Violence❞
During this session of “Art AND Humanism” at the Gallery of the Humanistisch Verbond (Pottenbrug 4, 2000 Antwerp), we will delve into the current exhibition “Art against Violence,” a confronting exhibition about transgressive behavior and sexual violence. Together, we will create safe & brave spaces to reflect on these themes individually and as a group.
Rest assured: you don’t need any prior knowledge about the topic, nor do you need a background in art history to participate. The only things you need are an open mind and a critical perspective. We will first focus on the exhibition as a whole and then discuss one or several artworks together as a group.
⁉️ In short: with Art AND Humanism, we take time together to reflect on how art helps us think and speak about difficult but urgent themes.
Wednesday, March 18, 7:30 PM
Pottenbrug 4, 2000 Antwerp (Humanistisch Verbond)
In Art AND Humanism, we take the time together to pause and reflect on art. In a small group, we observe paintings and sculptures, share what they evoke in us, and engage in conversation about free-thinking humanist values. We explore questions such as: What does this image say about humanity, freedom, and responsibility? And what do you take with you into your own life and work?
