Over the last two years, Decentralized Finance (DeFi) has emerged as one of the hottest topics in the blockchain and crypto space. The focus of the DeFi movement is to create a decentralized financial system, one that is interoperable, inclusive, and transparent. And it's happening ... currently $8 billion is 'locked' in DeFi products after rapid growth over the last 3 months.

We're very fortunate that Bass Bauman, co-organizer of the Austin Ethereum Meetup, is a subject matter expert on DeFi and has agreed to provide an introduction to DeFi concepts and the current landscape, as well as answer questions at our next meetup.
