Skepticism vs Truth-Seeking (open discussion, all welcome)

Details
What is Skepticism and is it always healthy? Perhaps it is good to be skeptical at times, but is it a healthy virtue for one to label themselves as a Skeptic?
We are all skeptical at times and some may consider themselves "Skeptics", but we all consider ourselves truth seekers. This topic is meant to throw a wrench into most of our understandings, because truth seeking is typically not viewed to be in opposition of skepticism. I propose that they are indeed in opposition with each other for the following reason:
To be skeptical is to DOUBT or REJECT something as True. You might think that because you value Truth, you are careful about the things you accept to be True and therefore do not want to recklessly take in bad ideas. While this is a valid take, the discipline of Skepticism is to distance yourself from certain ideas, but doing this does not bring you closer to the truth. Skepticism does not bring you towards anything.
This is where Truth-Seeking comes in opposition. If you value Truth, there must be at least one thing in your life that you accept as true. And in order to accept anything as truth, you must suspend your Skepticism. But... when you suspend your Skepticism, are you taking any leap of faith?...
Do you view skepticism as a virtue? Is it a temporary step in the vetting process of seeking truth? Or is it a constant On-switch? Is it always good to be skeptical? How can we value truth when we are afraid to let our guards down and accept something as true?
The idea of objective truth fascinates me more than most things, as we all desire truth yet we find ourselves landing in so many different places. Then there's "subjective truth", or "my truth", which is a whole other animal.

Rule Of Etiquette: The goal is to have a productive free-flowing discussion, while also giving everyone a fair chance to participate accordingly. If you have any trouble getting a word in, please use the "Raise Hand" feature.
New Rule, Experimenting: When a hand is raised I will set a 2-Minute timer for turns. However, if you let it known in your turn that you wish to engage with another person, your turn will be set to 4-Minutes. When no hands are up we continue with a free flow dialog with no timer. No one is obligated to speak if they do not want. Respect for others is a must (or at least please try, haha. We're all human).
