Topic: Bridging Divides: How do we talk about politics, religion, and the hard topics?

Conversations about politics, religion, and other deeply held values can feel impossible in today’s polarized world. Too often, these discussions lead to defensiveness, division, or silence—because when our identities are tied to groups or ideas, questioning them can feel like a personal attack. Yet avoiding these conversations leaves us more isolated from one another. How can we engage across differences with empathy and curiosity, without losing our own convictions? In this month’s conversation, we’ll explore theories and strategies for listening deeply, speaking honestly, and building understanding even when we disagree. Together, we’ll ask what it takes to move beyond winning arguments toward creating connection in a fractured time. Or at least holding our own when emotions threaten communication.

Join us as we explore these questions and more in our ongoing monthly discussion series, where we aim to go deeper into what shapes our shared human experience.
