Topic: Seeing the World: Perspective, Perception, and the Stories We Tell
Much of what we experience is not only what happens, but how we make sense of what happens. Two people can live through the same moment and carry away completely different meanings. Our perspectives are shaped by upbringing, culture, personality, values, and past experiences — each acting as a lens through which reality is interpreted. These lenses quietly influence what we notice, what we fear, what we hope for, and what we believe is possible.
Over the past months, our conversations have explored themes like authenticity, love, purpose, sacrifice, and the forces that move us. This discussion continues that journey by turning toward the inner narratives that shape how we understand the world and our place within it. How do different perspectives influence connection and conflict? In what ways do the stories we tell ourselves affect our relationships, choices, and sense of possibility? When does interpretation become insight — and when might it become a limitation?
Together, we’ll explore how greater awareness of our own perspectives can deepen understanding of ourselves and others — and perhaps open new ways of seeing the lives we are already living.
Join us as we explore these questions and more in our ongoing monthly discussion series, where we aim to go deeper into what shapes our shared human experience.
