The Future of Healthcare in the U.S.

As one of the big goals for the Obama administration, providing universal healthcare will be a very tricky ball of wax for our new president. Let's discuss the advantages and pitfalls of the various options available - mandated private insurance, single-payer (government-run), the status quo... What would you suggest? Is rationing of healthcare in our future, or is it already here?

I'd like each member to have a personal story about healthcare, whether it is your own, from a family member or a close friend. That will launch the discussion and provide some interesting perspectives on how healthcare is delivered in this country, and how it can be improved.
