Discovering Buddhism: The Spiritual Teacher (Thursdays)

This course is part of the Discovering Buddhism program developed by the FPMT. It offers a thoughtful exploration of the role of the spiritual teacher on the Buddhist path, and how to cultivate a wise and beneficial relationship with a guide.

Students investigate the qualities of a qualified teacher and a receptive student, the importance of discernment, and the purpose of relying on a teacher for spiritual growth. The course also addresses common challenges and misconceptions, providing practical guidance on how to engage in this relationship with clarity, respect, and personal responsibility.
