Believed to be an Israeli/American jointly built cyber weapon, this talk will cover some of the fascinating facts about the world's first state-grade malware that was discovered in 2010. would today's security awareness in organizations be able to handle this sophistication level any differently than in 2010?
Polymorphic & Metamorphic Malware - Pooria Madani
The number of newly developed self-changing malwares is on the rise, and they account for million of dollars in loss in today's economy.
In this talk, Pooria will give an introduction to inner working parts of Metamorphic and Polymorphic malwares and present his latest research on metamoprhic malware detection technique. Pooria is a computer science PhD candidate at York University, specialized in applied machine learning and dataminig in cybersecurity domain.
Lock-picking - Nick Aleks
Physical security is an overlooked component of data and system security in the technology world. While frequently forgotten, it is no less critical than timely patches, appropriate password policies, and proper user permissions. Lock-picking is the age-old art of gaining physical access to restricted and protected areas. Every security professional and criminal knows that physical access to your targets infrastructure is a checkmate in any engagement. Nick Aleks will demo an interactive lock-picking session for anyone interested in learning how lock-picking works and all the different techniques used to break these physical security controls.
