Hey hackers! Who is excited for our big in-person Capture The Flag in December?!
DEFCON Toronto has partnered with Symantec, Cycura and Brainstation to bring you our second, in-person Capture The Flag event that takes place December 9th, 2017 at Brainstation.
For teams or individuals who had never played before, we will be hosting a pre-ctf, one hour free of charge session that will cover the very basics of capture the flag games.
This Capture The Flag event is designed in a way so that anyone who participates can have fun, capture flags and come out more knowledgeable and more motivated to play in our future events.
Note that this session is limited to 70 participants and is for beginners & newcomers to CTF. It will take place the same day of the main CTF event, between 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM, the main event will start at 9:00 AM.
It is not mandatory to play in the CTF to attend the pre-session training, and vice-versa.

Capture The Flag introduction - Dolev Farhi
In this session, Dolev Farhi will conduct a walk through of what Capture The Flag games are, how they are played, and tips for teams participating for the first time in CTFs. We will also attempt to solve simple CTF challenges made especially for this presentation. It is highly recommended to bring a laptop with Kali Linux, as it will be partially hands on.
Dolev Farhi is the Co-Founder of DEFCON Toronto and an Information Security Engineer at Paytm Labs.
