Walk & Talk @Christiana Mall
Details
Looking for a way to get some light exercise, meet new people, and have interesting conversations without sitting around a table for two hours?
Walk & Talk is a casual, active meetup where we pair up, walk together, and explore a different big question each month.
We'll meet outside Barnes & Noble, pair up with another attendee, and use a step counter on one person's phone or smartwatch. Every 1,000 steps = one question to discuss.
The questions might be philosophical, silly, personal, social, cultural, or just something that gets you thinking. The goal is to have a good conversation and get to know the person you're walking with. Don't worry about having the "right" answer!
After each 1,000 steps, we'll switch questions and, when possible, switch walking partners so everyone has a chance to meet different people.
No fitness level required! This isn't a race or a workout. Walk at a comfortable pace, take breaks when needed, and come ready to chat.
September Topic:
Curiosity Vs Certainty
Humanism values questioning, evidence, and lifelong learning. How do we balance confidence with openness?
- #1: When was the last time you changed your mind about something important?
- #2: Is it a strength or a weakness to say "I don't know?"
- Describe a time you needed to admit you didn't have it all figured out.
- #3: How do we decide which sources deserve our trust?
- #4: Why do people cling to beliefs despite contradictory evidence?
- #5 Can curiosity make us happier? What subjects are you currently curious about?
