Allaire State Park Spring Hike

The hike will Start an End in the Allaire State Park trailhead parking lot on hospital Rd. As pictured in the feature photo. There are porta pots in the parking area. We will be hiking the Pine Trail. It is a 5 mile loop on sandy soil and rolling hills. We'll hike a moderate pace (2 mph) through various types of woodlands as the trail winds it's way through Allaire State Forest. It is a vigorous trail with multiple elevation changes. And the many types of foliage adds to it's diversity and natural beauty. We'll break frequently so as to enjoy our surroundings or snap a picture or two. At some point we'll leave a painted inspirational rock to mark our presence. Bring plenty of water and maybe a snack. I also recommend hiking boots, bug spray and a hiking stick. I encountered a few wet areas on this trail. A plastic bag to sit on might come in handy too. I've added photos to give you an idea of what to expect. Hope you can make it. Paul
