Manasquan Reservoir Early Morning Beat The Heat Hike

The Entrance is pictured in the feature photo. This 5+ mile Hike will Start an End in the middle parking lot near the boat dock. See PIN. Because much of the hike is out in the open, I like to start before the sun gets to high. There is some elevation and a lot of wooded area will traverse. But basically a flat hike which will take us around the reservoir. There are many interesting views we'll encounter. And we'll take our time stopping as needed to enjoy them. Plus this park offers a variety of activities. The Environmental Center, Boating ,Camping, kayaking w/rentals and fishing to mention a few. Some may want to Stop at the Visitors and Environmental Centers to check them out at the hikes end. Depending on the water temp, I may stay and rent a kayak for an hour after the hike. If anyone else is interested, allow extra time to do so. Don't forget to bring plenty of water, bug spray and maybe a snack. I found it to be an interesting place to visit, hike and kayak.
