Spring Birdwatching Walk with Audubon (followed by optional picnicking)

Details
Let's join Valley Forge Audubon on their 2-3 hour Saturday morning bird walk. What better way to celebrate Spring and its amazing flora and fauna than to immerse ourselves in a mindful walk through nature. The Audubon leaders are very knowledgeable, so there will be plenty to learn. Bring water, comfortable hiking shoes, and binoculars if you have them.
(their event description is below with details and specific parking instructions)
Optionally bring along vegan snacks or lunch and after the walk we can circle up for some noshing and conversation.
# Spring Birding at Heebner Park/Zacharias Trail
Join us for a 2 to 3 hour birding field trip at Heebner Park and Zacharias Trail in Worcester Township. This 84-acre local park has a variety of habitats and naturalized areas. In addition to our year-round avian residents, yellow warblers, indigo buntings, and nesting woodpeckers are often seen here in addition to brown thrashers and eastern towhees. Willow flycatchers can reliably be found in the fields and red-winged blackbirds and green herons are often seen in the pond area. Red-shouldered and red-tailed hawks, as well as bald eagles, are often spotted.
Beginning birders and children (accompanied by an adult) are welcome to join us on this 2 mile stroll. The trails are flat and mostly gravel-covered and there is a restroom on site. Bring binoculars if you have them. The leaders will have a pair to loan out. Use the entrance on Valley Forge Road (Rt 363). Drive to the back of the parking lot and park by the tennis courts. Do not use the Heebner Rd entrance.
