About us
DelhiByFoot was an idea born among kindred spirits, out of similar passions and a shared love for the city of Delhi and the rich delights it has to offer. Almost 20 years ago we were convinced that the best way to explore the world and to make sense of it all was by “walking on foot”.
What started was explorations with a group of friends, that formed into an active history and cultural heritage community in the days of Yahoo Groups and early Facebook years and soon morphed into DelhiByFoot Adventures, in the year 2011.
With a diverse team of photographers, nature experts, activists, artists, architects and raconteurs, DBF brings to you all its knowledge of and admiration for this city and beyond in readymade and bespoke experiences to facilitate your trysts with the myriad places and themes in this country.
Our tangible and intangible heritage is at the center of DBF’s activities, not just in reverence but to understand it in order to understand ourselves and help us surge forth into the future. With that vision, our repertoire consists of unique walks and experiences for children to refresh and enhance their classroom knowledge, apart from engagements for anyone with a sense of wonder. Walk with us along markets exploding with color and confetti, amble around ruins of impressive forts, hug ancient trees and sit under their shade listening to the chirping of migratory birds, revel among the yarn spinners of what old timers in the city refer as “Dilli” and sample Delhi’s culinary and visual delights with us and make it your own.
With over a decade of curating walks in Delhi, DBF today is a leader in the field and offers experiential modules, educational packages, book-readings and baithaks with specialists and tailor-made itineraries encompassing culture, history and heritage, food and adventure.

- Step into a Kumor Tuli —an idol maker’s workshop—and discover how a humble lump of clay is lovingly transformed into the Goddess.
- Interact with potters and artisans to understand the intricate and symbolic process of idol-making—try your hand at it if they allow!
- Learn about the fascinating evolution of Durga Puja—from its historical roots to modern-day practices.
- Hear age-old tales and divine myths about the Goddess while walking through bustling Bengali markets prepping for the big celebration.
