As the festive glow of Diwali softens into the mellow golds of October DelhiByFoot, in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Haryana, invites you on a refreshing half-day, self-drive outing to Farrukhnagar - a hidden Mughal-era gem nestled in the rustic heart of Haryana, just under two hours drive from Delhi.
Once a bustling hub on the old salt trade route and a princely seat under the Nawabs loyal to the Mughals, Farrukhnagar today stands quietly with faint echoes of royal grandeur, long lost for even the residents of this mofussil Nawab town.
The imposing Farrukhnagar Fort of Nawab Faujdar Khan*,* the exquisite Sheesh Mahal with its mirrored interiors, ancient stepwells like the octagonal Baoli of Ghaus Ali Shah and weathered gateways that still whisper tales of royal processions and desert winds.

Walk with us through this evocative town exploring Mughal-Pathan architecture, fast fading frescoes, sunlit havelis and lanes where history breathes in rhythm with the countryside. The journey promises not just heritage, but a scenic drive through mustard fields, village temples and the earthy calm of post-harvest Haryana.

Heritage stories will be narrated in Hindustani and English by our storytellers.
