Saturday morning seems to be a good time for many of you to come out and visit with other like-minded Democrats/Liberals/Progressives. We were advised at the meeting this morning of some groups who are collecting school supplies for kids who are in need, and we could help with some donated items. I don't have a list of what is needed so I would suggest some of the basics - pencils, crayons, notebook paper, glue sticks, etc. If I get a list, I'll share it with all.
Another group is collecting toilet paper cardboard tubes. Sounds odd but they decorate for Christmas and fill them with candy and take to towns in the interior of Mexico to distribute to kids who might otherwise get nothing at the holidays. Please save your cardboard tubes and bring them next time for our friend Marvin to give to the group he told us about.
These are the kinds of things that are easy for most of us to do. We also need to be doing voter outreach and registration to make sure we can take back this state in the mid-term elections. Lives depend on it.
