Did anyone else grow up thinking that Karen Newman belonged on the same level as Bing Crosby and Mariah Carey and that the 1998 masterpiece "Christmas Eve on Woodward Avenue" was a national treasure and Detroit was just so fucking special because one of the most popular Christmas songs ever was about how pretty Woodward is when it's all lit up only to find out a few years ago that literally no one outside of SE Michigan has ever heard of that song, or is it just me?
