TransitieCinema: Democracy

TransitieCinema (https://www.facebook.com/TransitieCinema/) will screen the movie "Democracy", a documentary about democracy, technology and civil rights.

With the upcoming Dutch elections, in an age were "data" is considered the new oil. Legislation that protects our civil rights like privacy are of high concern and should be democratically controlled.

But where does this legislation come from and how is it made? Explore the machinery and forces in a world that revolves around major economic interests; where politicians seem to have to choose between ordinary citizens and major companies.

The movie offers a thrilling insight into a group of European politicians trying to fight for a new data protection law.

As usual the movie is screened in Het Nutshuis (https://www.facebook.com/hetnutshuis/), the cinema's doors open at 19.00. The movie will start at 19.30. Admission is for free, but make sure to arrive on time, when the movie starts the doors will be closed!
