From Chaos to Clarity: The Design Principles Every Power BI Report Needs
Details
#### Description
Learn a practical end to end workflow for designing Power BI reports, from requirements gathering and wireframing to final delivery and iteration.
This session walks through a practical, end-to-end workflow for designing Power BI reports, from initial wireframing to a polished, production-ready dashboard. Attendees will learn how to translate business questions into clear layouts, choose the right visuals for the right insights, and apply design principles that improve usability and decision-making.
Many Power BI reports fail before users even start analysing the data. Within seconds, users scan, form impressions, and decide where to focus. When layout, spacing, and hierarchy are unclear, important insights are missed or misunderstood.
This session introduces practical design techniques grounded in how people visually process information. The solution is intentional report design: using layout structure, white space, visual hierarchy, and accessibility principles to guide attention deliberately rather than leaving it to chance.
In this session, attendees will learn how to structure pages to support natural eye-scanning patterns, prioritise information using hierarchy, and apply accessibility techniques that make insights easier to discover. You will leave with clear, practical methods to create reports that feel organised, purposeful, and easier to use.
