Halloween - Asian Pickleball and Potluck Party

Calling all pickleball-loving witches, warlocks, ghosts, ghouls, and monsters! 🧛‍♂️🧟‍♀️

…Join Denver Asian Scene for a frightfully fabulous evening of pickleball, delicious potluck treats, and wickedly good company at The Picklr Thornton!

Whether you’re a seasoned pickleball slayer or a freshly summoned beginner, everyone is welcome to join! We’ll have courts designated by skill level, so there’s no need to be scared of the competition. 👻

🎭 COSTUMES ARE ENCOURAGED! 🎭
Break out your most boo-tiful, hilarious, terrifying, or outrageously creative costume because we’re hosting a COSTUME CONTEST!
Our costume contest winners will receive GIFT CARDS!

🍬 TRICK OR TREAT… OR POTLUCK! 🍜
There will also be a POTLUCK, so bring your favorite dish, snack, dessert, or spooky creation to share!
Please comment under the pinned potluck post with what you’re planning to bring, and we’ll add it to our Google Doc.

This is a private Denver Asian Scene event, and your admission helps us cover the cost of our wickedly nice indoor courts and party room!

Check in, mingle with your fellow monsters, grab some food, and warm up those creaky skeletons!
New to pickleball? We’ll give you a quick rundown of the rules. Already know how to play? Grab a paddle and get your spooky dink on!
🎃 9:00 PM –
Gather your fellow ghosts and goblins for our group photo!
We’ll announce our costume contest winners and award GIFT CARD PRIZES to our most frightfully fabulous attendees!
🤖10:00 PM –
Our official festivities come to a close, and it’s time to return to your crypts!
BUT… if enough restless spirits want to keep playing, we may be able to summon an additional hour of court time!

FAQ

🏓 Do I need to bring a paddle?
No need to purchase one! The Picklr will have paddles available to borrow for FREE.
🧟 What if I’ve never played pickleball before?
Beginners are absolutely welcome!
We’ll have a designated beginner court, and one of our friendly pickleball vets (likely Tiffany 🧙‍♀️) will teach you everything from serving and scoring to staying out of the kitchen!
👻 Can I bring a friend?
Absolutely! The more, the scarier!
Just make sure everyone is listed on Meetup and included in your Venmo payment description so we can get an accurate headcount.
And don’t forget to encourage your friends to WEAR COSTUMES! The more ridiculous, the better!
⚔️ Is this a tournament?
NOPE! Put away your pitchforks!
This is a friendly, social gathering where the goal is to have fun, meet new people, and enjoy some pickleball.
If any disagreements arise, please settle them through the ancient and sacred ritual of Rock, Paper, Scissors. ✂️
