Mayhem MTB ascent Oct 18

Details

Our regular season is running short on Tuesday's. So, perhaps join for an out and back climbing dirt trail ride where you will need to have good brakes on the descent. Route will be riding up, up, up the Mayhem Trail, connecting to Travois, going to the Centennial Cone upper west trail head, and if the weather is nice continuing to the upper north lot by Elk Range Trail. This last 3 mile stretch only has a small hill in the way compared to Mayhem. On the return, after that small Centennial Cone hill, most everything is downhill. Descending from the upper west lot, enjoy the short side loop on Juniper Trail before returning to the Mayhem Lot in the Clear Creek Canyon bottom. A quick out and back ride!

Ride rating is P2-3,T2. Difficulty is not so much on the trail but really on the climbing. Distance may be around 10-12 miles. A good exploration on the shorter fall days.

Mayhem Gulch Trail Head is about 10 miles west of Golden in the US Highway 6 Clear Creek Canyon. Mayhem is the lowest part of Centennial Cone Park. A link with a map link for Centennial Cone park is below here:

RSVP's are now open and will close on Oct 17 evening, allowing for any potential need to make a weather change. Weather will be checked the day prior to ride. An update will be sent via comment.
