"Late Spring" @Landmark Theater Greenwood Village for Chez Artiste Classics

Details
Please, Landmark Theater is feeding us good this July! Also Claire Denis's "35 Shots of Rum" hive RISE UP. It is our time!
Late Spring by Yasujirô Ozu--your favorite director's favorite director and the master of all cinema-- is playing at Landmark Greenwood Village! I've been waiting to watch an Ozu film on the big screen!
Late Spring is very simple. Several people try to talk 27-year-old Noriko into marrying, but all she wants is to keep on caring for her widowed father. As with many of his well-known films, it concerns the stories of the Japanese working class and specifically domestic lives of women especially in a post-war Japan that often result in unveiling a universal truth. I'd even argue that Late Spring is Ozu's most accessible film and a perfect introduction to his distinct style and most importantly his lyricism. Once again, I understand that these are scheduled at the most inconvenient time and day of a work week but this will be so worth it, trust!
You cannot call yourself a cinephile if you haven't seen at least one Ozu film. Period! So with the spirit of cinephiliatrics, won't you join me?

As per usual, I'll be in the lobby around 6:45 to collect then head into the screening. Then we can all meet in the lobby for a quick discussion! Look for the CLASSIC makeshift DCC sign!
