DCC Book Club: Persepolis

This is a read the book and watch the movie on your own event.
Persepolis is a graphic novel by Marjane Satrapi, who recently passed away in France. In honor of her, I thought it would be fitting to do a compare and contrast of her book and the movie adaption.

Plot summary:
Persepolis is Marjane Satrapi’s autobiographical graphic memoir tracing her childhood and adolescence in Iran during and after the 1979 Islamic Revolution. As political upheaval and war reshape her country, Marjane struggles with identity, rebellion, and the loss of personal freedoms, leading her parents to send her to Europe for safety and education. The story follows her return and eventual decision to emigrate permanently
