François Truffaut's wildly lauded Jules et Jim features a very different Jeanne Moreau than we've seen in La Notte and Elevator to the Gallows. Here, she is the effervescent lynchpin of a hot French love triangle. Check out this lovely trailer. Streaming free on Kanopy and also available on Criterion with lots of great extras (including a commentary with Jeanne Moreau!)

Criterion says "Hailed as one of the finest films ever made, JULES AND JIM charts, over twenty-five years, the relationship between two friends and the object of their mutual obsession. The legendary François Truffaut directs, and Jeanne Moreau stars as the alluring and willful Catherine, whose enigmatic smile and passionate nature lure Jules (Oskar Werner) and Jim (Henri Serre) into one of cinema’s most captivating romantic triangles. An exuberant and poignant meditation on freedom, loyalty, and the fortitude of love, JULES AND JIM was a worldwide smash in 1962 and remains every bit as audacious and entrancing today."

Watch the film at home and then meet us to discuss. Edgewater Public Market has many food and drink options. We'll be on the patio outside, weather dependent.
Grab a bite and a drink and look for the DCC signage on our table. We're usually on the eastern end of the patio, in the shade of the building.

Note the change this week to Tuesday night!

Summer of Jeanne Moreau is casual and free-form, with plenty of time for chit-chat and other movie talk! Join us for one or many.
