Summer of Jeanne Moreau - Lumière (1976)

Here it is folks, the end of the summer of Jeanne Moreau. Thanks to all of you lovely people who joined me in this exploration! For the finale, let's watch a film written and directed by Moreau. A story of three actresses at different ages, Lumière is largely understood to be drawn from Moreau's own experiences. I can't wait to hear from her.

How hard it is to find and keep yourself; how to live when everyone assumes you're happy; how to survive when you need comfort but are desperate to be alone. What to do with the people you love disappear, and your fantasy of connection turns to dust. It's intense, and it's heartbreaking, and it's honest.
