In May of 2023, over 500 AI researchers and leaders signed the following statement: "Mitigating the risk of extinction from AI should be a global priority alongside other societal-scale risks such as pandemics and nuclear war."

Recently, experts have warned that AI capabilities could soon surpass human capabilities. ControlAI, a non-profit organization, is pushing for an international ban on superintelligent AI, with growing political support across multiple contries.

The Denver ControlAI Action Group aims to discuss these risks and engage in political advocacy.

In our first meeting, we will discuss the goals of ControlAI and our vision for the group. We are curious to hear your views on the topic and your ideas of how to build a community together.
