Details

Our book for December 2025 will be the first half of Cuentos de Eva Luna by Isabel Allende, pages 11-137.

Description: Not to be confused with Allende's earlier novel, Eva Luna, this is a collection of short stories published in 1990. Written in the style of magical realism, the stories are told by the character Eva Luna, a storyteller, and explore themes of love, memory, politics, and the strengths of women.

Note: Beginning in December, we will be scheduling more than one month to read some books in Spanish when they contain more than approximately 200 pages. We will make the decision on a case-by-case basis. In this group, we read the book in Spanish (or in English if there is a translation, a personal choice) during the month prior to the meeting. The discussion will be in Spanish.

This will be a Zoom meeting. Meeting ID: 896 2994 3509

In subsequent months, the books we will be reading and discussing are:

January 2026, the second part of Cuentos de Eva Luna by Isabel Allende,
