Our book for May of 2026 will be Mientras ellas duermen by Javier Marías, Spain, 1990. English translation: While the Women are Sleeping. Note: we will be discussing only selected stories from the book (see below).
Description: Mientras ellas duermen is a collection of haunting, often darkly humorous tales that bridge the gap between reality and the uncanny. We will be discussing the following stories only:
Mientras ellas duermen, La vida y muerte de Marcelino Iturriaga, Serán nostalgias, La dimisión de Santiestaban, El viaje de Isaac, Una noche de amor, La canción de Lord Rendall, Una epigráma de fieldad y Lo que dijo el mayordomo.
