This Western Colorado ride is a big, backcountry ride that takes you from the top of the Grand Mesa down to the Colorado River near Palisade. It has almost 2,000 feet of climbing and 6,800 feet of descending over 32 miles, offering amazing views of the San Juans, Uncompahgre Plateau, Colorado Monument, and the Book Cliffs.

The first 10-12 miles are very XC oriented with beautiful mountain meadow views. Then, at Shirttail Point, there are 3-4 miles of jumbly, twisty, overgrown(ish) trails that present a technical and cardio challenge. After crossing Lands End road at mile 17, the trail loses elevation more quickly and you will get awesome views of the valley floor all the way to the end of the trail.

This is not a beginner or light-intermediate ride.
It is backcountry and remote.
It will take between 4-6 hours of riding time (plus shuttle time)
While this isn't a technically hard trail per se, you need to be comfortable riding bench-cut trails with moderate to 'it just got real' exposure for 5+ miles. If you enjoy riding the Whole Enchilada, you have the technical skills for this trail.

I've got a shuttle lined up for us on Saturday, September 12th.

Note - e-bikes are not allowed on the Plunge
