Golden Gate Canyon SP - Mountain Lion/Windy Peak Loop!

8 Miles RT with 2,000' elevation gain.

A scenic, peaceful loop hike starting from the upper Nott Creek TH to the 9,141' summit of Windy Peak. There are great views to the west from this summit and it's a good place to relax for a bit before continuing the rest of the trip. We'll take this one clockwise and hit the many bridge crossings of Deer Creek on the second half.

Please bring your pack, layers, fluids, snacks, and good footwear. Don't forget your sun protection.

After, we can hit the Cast Iron Tavern for refreshments and maybe we can sit outside.

Carpools meet at 7:20 at the Golden Gate Canyon Road parking area. There is a daily per vehicle fee to visit the park unless you have an annual pass or the Keep Colorado Wild pass.
