8 miles RT with 2,400' elevation gain.
This is a challenging hike to a tranquil summit in the Glen Haven area. There is a good trail all the way to the top and this area has a nice feel to it. On a clear day, there are great views of the RMNP peaks from the summit and you can see how many you can identify while we break. There was an incident earlier this year here when a trail runner was attacked and killed by a mountain lion - stay with the group. Might be nice to have Pearl along.
Please bring your pack, smart layers, fluids, snacks, and good footwear. Unless things change quite a bit, I'm expecting a dry trail.
You can arrange carpools from your area using the comments section. In the past, some have used the Wagon Road Park N Ride for the I-25/Loveland approach, and other have used the Eldorado Park N Ride for the Estes approach. There are no restrooms at the TH, so you may want to plan a pit stop along the way.
