Public Access Wet Lab Space

Details

With recent cuts to NIH and related research, I wanted to schedule this meeting to see if there was any interest in forming a non-profit wet lab space where researchers could potentially continue their work. Similar wet lab spaces include GenSpace (Brooklyn, NY), Counter Culture Labs (Oakland, CA), Biocurious (San Francisco, CA), and others, but to my knowledge neither Denver nor Boulder has such a space (feel free to post here or message me with correction).

As a non-profit, the organization can take donated equipment as a tax write-off to the donor, and makes it eligible for discounts, equipment-on-loan (from other non-profits) as well as other non-profit benefits (grants, special Addgene access, etc) that individuals and for-profit companies do not normally have.

If you are interested in forming and running such a place, please come join us for discussion. Feel free to propose alternate place and times for meeting, the current venue was only chosen for its availability.
