Come join us for a breathtaking hike on the Bear Creek Trail to Panorama Point in Lair o’ the Bear Park! 🏞️ This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy scenic views, explore beautiful forests and creeks, and connect with fellow hiking enthusiasts. 🌲👥

When: Saturday, July 5, 2025, 8:00 AM - 11:30 PM (approx. 3.5 hours) ⏰
Where: Lair o’ the Bear Park, Bear Creek Trailhead, 22550 State Hwy 74, Idledale, CO 80453 📍
Who: All hiking enthusiasts (beginner to moderate skill levels welcome!) 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️
This moderately easy 6.8-mile out-and-back hike offers stunning views of the Bear Creek Valley and a rewarding climb to Panorama Point, with about 1,900 feet of elevation gain. 🗻 Expect a mix of shaded forest paths, open meadows, and a steady ascent to a viewpoint with sweeping vistas of the Colorado foothills. 🌄 The trail is open year-round, but we’ll monitor for muddy conditions due to recent weather—check for updates closer to the date! ☔

What to Bring:

• Sturdy hiking shoes or boots 🥾
• At least 2 liters of water and a snack 💧🍎
• Sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat (some sections are exposed) 🧴🧢
• Optional: trekking poles, binoculars, or a camera for the epic views 📸
• Dogs on leash are welcome (bring water for your pup too)! 🐶

Details:

• Meet at the Bear Creek Trailhead parking lot off State Hwy 74. Look for the group near the trailhead sign! 🚩
• We’ll hike at a relaxed pace, enjoying the scenery and stopping briefly to take in the views at Panorama Point. 😍
• The trail has some moderate climbs, so a basic fitness level is recommended, but we’ll keep the group together and supportive. 🤝
• Check for updates on trail conditions by Friday evening, as rain can make sections slippery or muddy. 🌧️
