Sunday Morning 9:30 AM Bike Ride Ride @ Waterton Canyon
Details
- Meet time: 9:30 AM – Arrive a bit earlier to park and get ready.
- Location/Meetup point: Waterton Canyon Trailhead parking lot (address: ~11300 Waterton Road, Littleton, CO 80125 or 11000 W Waterton Rd). It's a big open gravel lot with restrooms near the entrance. Popular groups meet near the bathrooms or trail start for easy spotting.
- Ride info: Out-and-back on the main road (paved/gravel for first ~6.2-6.5 miles to Strontia Springs Dam/Reservoir), gentle climb (~700-1,300 ft gain round trip depending on how far), then downhill fun back. About 13 miles round trip to the dam—perfect pace for a group. No dogs allowed (protects sheep). Open year-round, dawn to dusk (half-hour before sunrise to after sunset).
- Parking: Free, but it fills up on weekends—get there by 9 AM to snag a spot. No overnight parking.
- Rules/Tips: Stay right on the road (share with other bikes/hikers), bring water/snacks (no water faucets early season), layers for March weather (could be 83°F next Sunday, check forecast closer—might be cool/muddy post-snow).
Join Zhen and Samuel for a relaxed group bike ride at beautiful Waterton Canyon! Meet at 9:30 AM in the main parking lot near the restrooms. We'll ride the scenic out-and-back road (mostly gentle gravel, ~13 miles round trip to the dam and back, ~700-1,300 ft elevation). Great for road/hybrid bikes, beginners welcome. Bring your bike, water, snacks, layers (March weather!), helmet. No dogs allowed. RSVP so we know who's coming—rain/cancellations posted here day before. Let's enjoy the views and maybe spot some sheep! 🚲🌄 Questions? Message me or Samuel.
