Labor Day Paddle at Georgetown Lake πββοΈβοΈ
Details
Letβs soak up one of the last paddles of summer before the cooler fall weather starts settling into Colorado! βοΈπββοΈπ
For Labor Day πΊπΈ, weβre heading up to beautiful Georgetown Lake ποΈπ for an afternoon on the water. Surrounded by mountain views, Georgetown is a great place to spend part of the holiday, enjoy the sunshine βοΈ, meet some new people π, and squeeze in another summer paddle before our warm-weather paddling season begins winding down. π
π START TIME
Weβll meet around 12:00 PM and plan to get on the water shortly afterward. Weβll paddle at a relaxed, social pace πββοΈπΆ and spend approximately 2β3 hours on the lake. This isnβt a race π, so come out, enjoy the scenery ποΈ, and paddle at a pace thatβs comfortable for you.
πββοΈπΆ WHAT TO BRING
Bring your own SUP, kayak, or other suitable paddle craft, along with your paddle and any necessary gear.
π¦Ί A PFD is required. Georgetown Lake is at a high elevation ποΈ, and the water can be cold π₯Άπ even when the air temperature feels warm βοΈ. Please dress appropriately for the water temperature and weather conditions.
π MEETING LOCATION
Weβll meet at the Rocky Mountain Paddleboard dock behind Cabin Creek Brewing at Georgetown Lake.
π¦οΈ WEATHER
Mountain weather can change quickly βοΈπ¨, so weβll keep an eye on the forecast as Labor Day gets closer. If conditions are unsafe due to strong winds, thunderstorms, or other weather, the event may be adjusted or canceled.
Come enjoy the mountains ποΈ, water π, sunshine βοΈ, and good company
π. Letβs get one more great summer paddle in before fall arrives! πββοΈπΆπ
πΆ RENTALS
Anyone who needs equipment can contact Rocky Mountain Paddleboard at (720) 943-1132
ππ₯ CARPOOLING
For anyone who would like to carpool, we can meet at Mammoth Lot and ride together to Georgetown Lake. ποΈπββοΈ
If youβre interested in carpooling, please post in the comments so we can coordinate drivers, passengers, and space for paddleboards or kayaks. ππΆ
π HOW TO FIND US / PARKING π
Iβll try to park near Twenty-Second St in the first parking lot. Since weβre starting at 12:00 PM, the parking lot may already be full by the time we arrive.
If that lot is full, please find another available parking spot nearby and make your way toward the lake.
π Iβll share our exact meeting location once I arrive so everyone can easily find the group
