History of Ireland is a brand new show from five women (and a sack of potatoes), which re-writes the History of Ireland from a female perspective, using theatre, comedy and dance. Award winning Moxie Brawl welcome you to the final of the annual Irish beauty pageant ‘The Rose Of Tralee’ where the contestants treat you to a taste of Ireland. Highlighting Irish women’s achievements often forgotten in history books, such as their role during the Civil War, winning the right to vote, to the struggles Irish women faced in the laundries and how in 2018 abortion is still illegal. Winner of Best Show in 2010 at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, Russell went on to make history as the first comedian to win both the Edinburgh Award and Melbourne Comedy Festival’s Barry Award in one year.
